And the Return of: Hey, It's Ok!

It's Friday. The week has finally come to another end. This week may have been short due to a day off on Monday for Memorial Day, but somehow the universe thought that spinning the world on its axis a little slower than usual would be humorous...

Dear Universe... You are not funny. In fact, this qualifies as just plain cruel...

But slowly finding our way into the weekend, I thought it only fitting to go back to roots and bring forth one of my favorite Friday traditions...(which hasn't been seen here since May 2012) Yes, friends! I wish to revive the beautiful thing that is...

HEY! IT'S OK...

1. You are STILL envious of Jessica Beil and the man she scored...

I am in no way saying she doesn't deserve this beautiful specimen of pure handsomeness... I mean, look at that woman! Beautiful, of course...

But maybe I'm saying I deserve it more. I CAN make a mean cup of coffee, Justin. Remember that anytime you need a cup of jo your perfect woman coffee!

2. If you INTENTIONALLY let your bananas get so moldy, you have NO CHOICE but to make banana bread... sweet, sweet, dense, delicious, carbo-loaded banana bread...

3. If Beyonce has been your best friend for three days strait...

I mean, with her Diva status, I wouldn't ask her to leave my headphones either... especially when she's been supplying the goods without disappointment.

4. You're almost excited about a bad day at work because it gives you an excuse to buy a few slew of new bathing suits to lift your spirits...

5. Your previous weekend gives you NO excuse to not use any sunscreen below 70SPF

Happy Weekending, loves!

A Word From Blake Lively

Just as the rain started to fall and the thunder boomed overhead, I was walking into Barnes and Noble to spend a lazy afternoon. Seeing the beautiful Blake Lively on the cover of Marie Claire, I picked it up to read her article about the new drama, Savages. But instead of ending the article with a desire to see the movie, I was struck by one of her statements in particular...

"I've been with very few people. If I'm not with somebody who really excites or inspires me, then I'd rather be by myself."

I believe this is a mindset that is hard for the current single ladies to accept- to think it's better to be alone than to be with someone else that doesn't make you a better version of yourself. But I fully agree and hope other women can too- Don't be afraid to ride solo to enjoy the peace and comfort of your own personal acceptance. The company will follow, and with the right one it most surely will be worth the wait.

California- The Last Hoorah!

Beginning my new job a week from this morning, I had all of last week (and this) to spend my down time wisely. Being that I love to travel, love my family, and love the west coast, I picked a flight and within two days, I was sitting in a jet plane heading towards the California Coast to visit my aunt for the last hoorah! In a few short statements, my trip included...

  • An hour and a half aerobics session with Richard Simmons in Beverly Hills.
    Yea, Dude's crazy!
  • Fireworks from my aunt's balcony in Marina Del Rey. Happy July 4th!
  • Exploring the canyons around Malibu beach.
I can confirm, even though I love the beach...
I am DEFINITELY a mountains lady!
  • Traffic jams upon traffic jams for no apparent reason.
But I'm not complaining! I got to sight see more around the streets of LA that way!
  • A 10 mile walk with my good friend Jesse (Check out his blog, he's pretty awesome)
Oh, and we ended up on a Ferris Wheel ride on the Santa Monica pier.
    ((Adventure is Out There!))
  • Morning walks to Venice Beach to stumble upon early morning surf contests
    (Hellooooo surfer boys!)
  • Muscle Beach, the birthplace of physical fitness...
and monkey humans on grown up playground equipment.
  • Sunsets... Need I say more?

Best Wishes in Starspangled Tights

A friend of my aunt wanted to surprise me for a fun night out in Beverly Hills during my trip to the west coast. And boy... was I surprised! Helloooo Richard Simmons!

Dancing to 1980's techno remixes of American songs (all on vinyl, I tell you!) I got a first hand look of Slimmons. If his outfit doesn't scream "Happy July 4th!" I don't know what will.

Have a great independence day, everyone! Until next week... stay classy you wonderful Americans, you! <3

Fashionista- Lady Di

If you know me even a wee-little, you know I have a wee-little crush on this Glee star...

Dianna Agron. A blonde beauty, for sure. I fell in love with her spunky attitude as Quinn Fabray on Fox's GLEE. But the even more so with the actress herself- energetic, creative, and all around classy. I mean, for goodness sakes, I even cut my hair to match her new-do last fall...

(Ashamed? Not even in the slightest...)

Besides the ambitious hair cut and her inspiring new website: You, Me & Charlie
This girl has some serious style that I plan to implement into my own closet this spring. Living in LA, this chica knows a few things about warm temps and dressing to meet the heat!
Scarves and Leather

Florals and Denim

Floppy Hats!

Blazers over Dresses

Striped Simplicity!

And so many, many more! Who are your fashion icons (And why?!)
Have a lovely day, happy wanderers!

More Julia

The first chick flick I can remember sitting down to watch with my mom was Pretty Woman
(What a choice to show a youngin', right?)

Ever since then, I have found this woman to be of utmost class, beauty, and inspiration.

Girl Crush, Anyone?

Girls in Curlz

I am so excited to see more and more celebs sporting the "Curly" look.
For me, ringlet curls, beachy waves, and tousled ends have always served some kind of elegance to the way a girl presents herself. And with a thick head of blonde wavy hair, it's a relief that the "strait edge" look is slowly fading away...
For Example...
Love Miley's long hair with wave and curl...
      Or Taylor's Natural Ringlets
How about Lauren Conrad's natural subtle wave...
Just ecstatic to see these kinds of hairstyles coming back into the spot light.
Bring a little body and life back into that glorious head of hair you have, ladies.

Happy Hump Day, World!
