As much as I love the way you stick with me day in a day out, I have a confession to make to you. I do not miss you one bit since leaving on a jet plane to the sunshine state.
I'm sorry, but when have you ever offered me bountiful sunshine, 80 degree weather, a tropical breeze with the musical accompaniment of palms blowing against aqua blue skies, freshly peeled oranges, lazy days counting dolphins, and endless amounts of laughter and smiles, all at one time in the month of March?
You and your long work days, homework assignments, obnoxious traffic, and nagging emails have never made me feel this way. Smiling when I get up 'til I get back into bed, I can't say I miss you.
Now it would be wrong of me to ask you to change for me. So I ask you to do so for my friend, who is returning to you this evening after 4 wonderful days of getting to know each other, laughing until we cried, sing alongs in the car to Neon Trees-Animal, and dance parties by the sea. Please take it easy on her and help her feel welcome after she has left this place.
I will not be back to see you for another couple days, but be sure that I expect you to shape up and get your self straightened out. Because trust me, EVERYONE deserves a real world as nice as Vacation.
