A Winter's Poem

One of my favorite things about the Winter Season is the ability to sit back, enjoy some hot chocolate and just indulge in poetry.
Today, I was able to find a quick 20minute break between studying for finals and located one of my favorite Winter Poems written by Robert Frost.
I would like to take this opportunity to share it with you, and hope it warms your heart with a simple winter’s story on this blustery day.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
-Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

  1. Ahh just lovely. You can always count on Mr. Frost for that... he had such a keen awareness of the beauty of the seasons. Happy studying!
