Flap Jacks! Come and Get em'

If you love Pancakes (Which you should, because they are not only easy to make but incredibly delicious) then you know the normal scheme of things:
Pancakes =
BUTTER
AND
SYRUP

But if you're like this gal, Butter and Syrup just don't cut it anymore!

So I tried mixing it up with these simple Toppers that are cheap, healthy, and fun to plop down on those yummy breakfast cakes.

1. Pancakes&Apple Sauce
Simple yet so delicious. Especially in the fall. I recommend Motts Extra Cinnamon Apple Sauce, or homemade regular. Whatever your preference, any sweet apple-y goodness will do.

2. Yogurt + Fruit
Take your favorite plain greek yogurt (Mine is Fage, found at Harris Teeter and other local grocers) The consistency is thick, yet creamy and not too sweet. Plop a dollop on top of your pancakes and add your favorite fruit (Mine is Blueberries and Strawberries, TOGETHER!)

3. Yogurt + Candy
Yes, this one may not be the healthiest choice, but believe it or not, this method will yeild you less sugar in your overall consumption of pancakes than topping with Maple Syrup! Once again, just add a dollop of Fage plain/vanilla yogurt and crumble your favorite chocolate candies on top (M&M's, Reese Cups, Toffee Crunch Bar, etc...)

4. Low Fat Peanut Butter + Jelly
Doesn't the title say it all? Have a PB&J right on top of your Pancake. Yummmyy!

BUT IF YOU MUST HAVE SYRUP:
5. Add Sliced Bananas
Bananas mixed in Maple syrup is one of the best mixtures since PB&J. Its sweet, yet savory and gives you a reason to put some fruit into your morning meal.

Hope you enjoy those Pancakes, Breakfast Lovers!
