First, I'd like to put some of my last pictures I took while I was home in MD for the holidays. Just this past Wednesday, my mom woke me up to see this beautiful sunrise.
Then, I thought I’d make some breakfast before getting on the road to head back down south. So I cracked an egg open to eat with some tasty grits when a double yolk smiled back at me. My mom and I laughed out loud and just basked in how lucky this little occurrence was.
Have you ever had a double yolk in your egg shell? I don’t know, just a little joy from something simple and unexpected.
OK! On to the Daniel Fast details. If you haven’t heard, Lifepoint Church, and many other churches around the country, are taking 21 days to fast. In the “Awakening” series, we’re waking up our mind, body, and souls to what God’s purpose is by stripping ourselves of caffeine, meat, dairy, and anything processed. We’re going raw and real to spend time whole-heartedly with God.

Today I am going grocery shopping. I don’t think I’ve ever planned out a trip like I have this one. I have things on my list I’ve never bought before: Whole grain rolled oats, a variety of fruits including blueberries, raspberries, and ‘Nanners. I am buying only 100% whole grain pasta, tofu, and LOADS of kidney beans and chickpeas.
Am I excited? You better believe it! I love food, I love cooking, and I think this could not only be a great way to grow closer to God and listen to his purpose for me, but to also explore and better understand my body and the concoctions that we can come up with to eat healthy food and feel AWESOME!
Now, The Daniel Fast also includes giving up coffee, so as a college student always craving anything Starbucks, I may find this challenging.
BUT! I treated myself this morning to my last cup of Coffee until February.

Ahhh an Americano with Cream and Sugar.
(All of which will be cut out of my diet completely by tomorrow)
So as I enjoy my americano, sitting with my returning roomies and grocery shopping, I send best wishes your way for this Sunday, the upcoming week, and all your plans entail
Happy Weekend, Everyone!
Those sunset pitures are gorgeous!
