Chucklin' at Chaplin

There is something so wonderful about the ability to tell a story without any words at all.
I swear, somedays I wake up and feel as if I belong in the days of black and white films, simple and clean humor, pleated vests, and go-go hairstyles.

Charlie's facial expressions? *Gasp* Perfection. This particular scene is one of my favorite clips that can be found online because it's the classic man .vs. beast- in a whole new perspective. Perhaps fear makes a beast of all that we simply just don't understand?

((Plus, who WOULDN'T want to pet that oversized kitty-cat? I know I would love to hug that cute critter!))

I hope this clip brings a smile to your face and remember- There's always something to chuckle about when it comes to Chaplin.

The Dandy Lion- A Poem

Last night I saw a dandy lion
prancing in the grass
he wore pink shoes and a coat of wool
and a crown made out of glass
He frolicked under the moon so bright
the light caught on his mane
His tail so high waved towards the sky
like he was the top of the food chain
His teeth just glittered in a twisted smile
he hummed a delightful tune
he blinked and he winked with every turn
as his green eyes caught sight of the moon
He stopped and he stared as he saw me there
then he motioned me close with his claws
so I joined in his dance where we both could prance
My hands clapped in his paws

As the dusk approached and the bull frogs croaked
my friend bowed and said his goodbyes
but he smiled all the while as he shimmied away
Into a bush with fireflies

Now some people may think a dandelion
grows up and around from the ground
with seeds of white that take a feathery flight
when the wind blows them up and around

But little do they know what a dandy lion does
when the stars and moon come out
Just take a trip into the fields of mist
and find what dandy lions are all about
